A poor-condition Reading Copy only: Mild edgewear to black cloth cover, mostly at corners (gold lettering on spine); endpapers intact, but there are binding issues, with cracked gutters and loose signatures thruout, as well as a small eroded section (a little smaller than a dime) at the top, gutter side, of approximately 100 pages (text unaffected, as this is at the very top of the affected pages); title page is almost totally detached, held by a whisper of a hair (penciled on this page is either a tiny scribble or an Oriental character, but it looks more like the latter); 509 pgs.; published by Dodd, Mead & Co. (New York), no publish date found (unless there is a page missing at the front, but it is hard to tell, with the title page loose, if something is missing). If all you want to do is read this book, this copy will do very nicely. (see picture of my book within this description)
