The massively popular TV series New Girl follows Jess (Zooey Deschanel) after she moves into a loft with three male roommates--Schmidt, Nick, and Winston--and follows their exploits in dating, work, and relationships. Schmidt (played by actor Max Greenfield) is a breakout character with his conversational misfires and self-important (but well-intentioned) one-liners on subjects ranging from sex and dating to grooming and style. A running joke on the show is the roommates make Schmidt put money into a "douchebag jar"--it's like a swear jar, but instead of putting in money when you curse, you put in money when you say something douchey.
