Follow Sir Dunkin' as he takes his little friend Max to meet his friends who live and work in the Historic City of Colonial Williamsburg, VA. There are lessons to be learned and questions that need answers with the turn of every page. There are countless of selfless people who rescue and/or foster abandoned, lost, abused, strays, surrendered, homeless and unwanted dogs. Because of their caring hearts and understanding of the need to provide for God's creatures, big and small, they have prevented thousands of dogs from being put down. Sir Duncan, the sweet Poochon featured in this book, was one day from being put down. Since 2016, the author, along with her husband, Jack, have fostered 28 dogs for Homes Fur Hounds Rescue. All of them went on to new and loving homes except one. Duncan, foster Number 25, remains with them and was officially adopted in March, 2020. Duncan chose them; they didn't "chews" him. He has endless love to give and receive and he is their constant companion. You guessed it; Duncan is the inspiration for this fictional story.Homes Fur Hounds, the recipient of the profits from the sale of this book, rescues on average 150 dogs per year. The initial cost to thoroughly examine each pup after rescue runs between $1,400 and $1,700 depending on the condition of the dog. Then each dog goes to a foster home for love and care until adopted. Proceeds will help so many dogs in need of medical attention and shelter.Thank you.
