Good. First Gregg Press printing, March 1981. It is also the first edition in hardcover, preceded by the Avon paperback of 1962 and the Manor paperback of 1973. Navy cloth with gold spine titles in red title window, very faintly dampstained. Spine square. Binding sound. No jacket, as issued. Heavy foxing to top of textblock, with one spot of foxing to fore-edge. Pages else clean, interior free of markings.
MacLean is one of my favorite authors. She's certainly the best SF author at characterization. This collection includes The Diploids (the consequences of genetic experimentation) and Incommunicado (her most famous work--communication theory made fun).
