I have first read Akunin book when I turned 23 and I read his Winter Queen. the impression young Fandorin with his mysterious detective stories, love story, beautifully shown historical background had on me, made me want to read all books about him. The Death of Achilles is the 4-th in order, but one of the best ones written about Fandorin. All reviews you might have heard about him - "Sherlock Holmes of our time" etc are correct, if not too modest. Great for teenagers, adults - a must-have-one book! Wish they would hurry up and translate the rest of the books about this guy - my congratulations to the author
