Bound in grey cloth with titles present to the spine. Boards have light wear present to the extremities of the boards. No ownership marks present. Text has some light highlighting present. Binding tight and solid. Approximately the first half of the book is narrative history of the units and movements of the regiment during the course of the conflict. The second half is the stuff of which dreams are made (at least for a historian or a novelist): muster rolls, casualty figures, desertion figures, deaths from disease, photographs, entries about each individual, and an extensive bibliography. The Danville Eighth Star New Market & Dixie Artillery was an artillery battery raised in Virginia for service in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War.
