I have read quite a lot about Daniel Boone (his sister is my 5th G-Grandmother) ... and had never heard/read this story. It is an interesting tale and only shows how little we've changed with our interpretation of 'right' and our attacks on each other. The story makes Daniel even more admirable and his detractors even more petty and wrong.

A Must-Read
Fascinating account of this episode - My teenage boys couldn't put it down. A great way to sneak in some historical knowledge in a novel.
