Audiophile 101 and then some!
I purchased the first edition for a few bucks and this reviews that edition. I have been a novice audiophile for about 2 years and religiously read Stereophile and The Absolute Sound Magazines which are great but kind of like jumping into the middle of a conversation - meaning, some of it I understand and some of it is a different language. "The Complete Guide To The High End" is a fantastic introduction to "high end" music reproduction. I wish I had this book 2 years ago! It covers all of the basics in easy to understand language that makes me say "Aha! That's what they mean about "soundstage" "timbre" etc." The first edition is old (by today's rapidly changing audiophile standards) and doesn't cover some topics - but the basics don't change. Spend a few dollars and get this edition - just don't be surprised if you spend some more for the lastest edition. This is a very good book.
