A well thought out first contact story with a twist. Not only does the heroine meet a new race, she has to become them, to survive. They have the ability to change her and much more. A very good story about difficulties in adapting to a completely different way of life while trying to remain human without breaking TO many first contact protocols. The new species is made very real which is hard to do. And her feelings of being the only human, on the planet, is well done. A love story, survival story that was a pleasure to read. The aliens truly have a meeting of the minds and bodies of all they touch. A story of a brutal, yet gentle race. Very primitive and yet, in ways, very advanced over the humans. Looking forward to the next part of this story.
