D1ngad).--This Church has recently been well restored, and it is intended to erect within it a suitable monument to the memory of the famous Vicar Prichard, the author of "Canwyll y Cymry," who was presented to this benefice Aug. 6th, 16o2, and died in 1644.--The oldest vessel now belonging to S. Dingad's is a partially gilded silver Chalice of the Cromwellian type (Plate x), bearing the hall mark of 1663, with maker's mark RP. The bowl which is somewhat square-shaped, stands on a baluster stem and is inscribed with flourishes "i Poculum Ecclesice de Landynggad i DM." Height, 6 in.; diameter of bowl, 3f in., of foot, 3$r in.; depth of bowl, 3I in.; weight, 9 oz. 14 dwts.--A silver Plate, hall-marked 1842, and made by Messrs. Barnard, is inscribed "Llandingat, the gift of Sarah Toyer, March 1883," and decorated with the sacred monogram, cross and nails within rays; diameter, 8 in.; weight, 11 oz. 5 dwts.--A Service, consisting of silver Chalice, Credence Paten and tankard Flagon, all bearing the hall marks of 184o with maker's mark in a four-lobed shield, and inscribed "Deo ET ECCLES1A; LLANDINGAD, ERASMUS HENRICUS GRIFFIES WILLIAMS DE LLWYNYWORMWOOD, PIE DEDICAVIT 1839." Each of these pieces, supplied by Catchpole & Williams, London, is decorated with I. H. S., cross and nails within rays. 6 The Corporation of Llandovery possesses no insignia, excepting a modern seal. The Chalice is 8f in. in height; diameter of bowl, 3! in., of foot, 3! in.; weight, 13 oz. The Credence Paten measures 3 in. in height; diameter, in.; weight, 17 oz.
