There are occasional light pencil notes on end papers and in the text. Pages are slightly darkened with age. Pages and bindings are tight. Covers are faded, slightly discolored, and some have corners bumped. Included are Volume I: Confucian Analects, The Great Learning, and The Doctrine of the Mean, 503 pages. Volume II: The Works of Mencius, 587 pages. Volume III-Part I: The First Parts of The Shoo-King or The Books of T'ang; The Books of Yu; The Books of Hea; The books of Shang and The Prolegomena, 735 pages. Volume IV-Part I: The First Part of the She-King, or The Lessons From the States; and the Prolegomena, 785 pages. Volume V-Part I: Dukes Yin, Hwan, Chwang, Min, He, Wan, Seuen and Ch'ing; and the Prolegomena, 933 pages.
