Book 1 of two books, same titles, book one lacks jacket and is a second printing; book two has dust jacket and is the first printing. #1: First edition, second printing. Very good book, bound in red cloth boards and gilt lettering. Lacks jacket, however the front and rear DJ flaps have been laid in the book. Also laid in the book is a letter from Hoover's secretary on his stationary dated May 23, 1938 to a Mr. Harlan Jacobs of Elmira, NY. The front pastedown has a card pasted to it which reads the following: "The compliments of Herbert Hoover. The rear pastedown has what appears to be the back side of envelope that letter arrived in. It shows the return address: "623 Mirada, Stanford University, Ca. Book two: is very good in like, non price clipped ($1.75) jacket, free of former owner writing or bookplates.."
