Seller's Description:
Very Good. No Jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. Written as an impassioned appeal to the Irish diaspora in America, who would be significant in Ireland's move toward freedom. Not a common title. This is a Very Good copy of the First edition. Green decorative cloth binding, with designs and lettering in black and gilt. Clean text; xxx, 514 pages; very clean and supple; unfoxed; page-ends gilt. Frontis portrait of Charles S. Parnell; other black-and-white illustrations throughout. The covers are rather worn, with bumping and rubbing to the margins; gilt on the spine is mostly rubbed off. Despite these defects, rather a sound volume due to the addition of new endpapers.
