This is the eighth in the series and celebrates Masakazu Konishi, who has led the field of neuroethology since the 1960s. Konishi's award was presented on October 8, 2001. He was selected to receive the prize by a truly august panel - the previous six winners of the Kresge Mirmelstein award.
