A great picture of railroading and its culture prior to WWII. An insight into railroading before radio communications and automatic signaling for trains. It also provides glimpses into the culktural and societial mores of that time period and the ongoing struggle between labor and management with some of "lifes lessons" for both sides. This is an easy and interesting read.
