Good+, No Dust Jacket. 4TO, 293 Pgs., B/W, Color Ills, Hardcover. Hardcover. Red cloth boards with title and illustrations in gold on front board and spine. Boards are rubbed. Corners and spine ends lightly frayed. Smaller than dime sized water spot on lower front board. Green and white illustrated endpapers show some foxing and soil. Previous owner's name crossed out in black marker at upper edge of first paste down. Hinges are a bit wobbly. Rear hinge has been neatly repaired. Gift inscription on half title. Frontispiece illustration has been removed, however all of the other 27 color plates and approximately 100 black and white illustrations are all present and in nice shape. Occasional foxing throughout. Illustrated by Charles Robinson. Always carefully wrapped and shipped in cardboard boxes to protect your purchase.

Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Loss at head and tail of spine due to rubbing. Bumping to the extremities. Spine has faded. Tide mark to front board due to spillage and marks to rear board. Front hinge is weak, resulting in first few gatherings to loosen. Rear hinge is also quite tender. Internally, binding is weak. Pages are generally bright with instances of scattered spots throughout. Good.
