After losing my original copy signed by author Rabbi Arthur Gilbert, I was thrilled to find this one. Rabbi Gilbert was my college professor of Hebrew Scriptures some 40 years ago. In his "living-room dialogues," he gave students a great appreciation for the richness of biblical text. The Bible Reader illuminates persons and passages of scripture and relates them to contemporary living. It is an interfaith interpretation in which Jews,Catholics, and Protestants can find common ground, coming to understand each others traditions. The Bible Reader can be read as a stand alone or as companion to the Bible. In our ever changing world, The Bible and the Bible Reader contain words of comfort.
