This Collectors Choice Music reissue features two dozen remastered mid-'30s Brunswick sides of Hal Kemp and His Orchestra. Kemp played saxophone and clarinet and gained notoriety in 1930 while on a European tour with Benny Berigan before forming his own big band. The vocals of Skinnay Ennis, Maxine Grey, and Bob Allen are showcased along with the arrangements of John Scott Trotter. Following these sessions Trotter joined Bing Crosby and was replaced with Art Mooney before the orchestra disbanded. ~ Al Campbell, Rovi
