This volume on the lives of Isaac and Christiana McCoy, missionaries to the American Indians during the early to mid-nineteenth century, includes some scarce and previously unpublished materials, such as Isaac McCoy's own autobiographical account of his life from 1784-1816, which forms a prequel to his History of Baptist Indian Missions, 1817-1840; his Observations in Vindication of the Doctrine of the Final Perseverance of the Saints (1811); and the first 25 of his 100 "Hymns and Spiritual Songs" (1812). The work by missionary biographer Walter N. Wyeth (1833-1899) entitled, Isaac McCoy-Christiana McCoy: Early Indian Missions (1895) has been reprinted in this volume to provide the reader with a condensed and engaging overview of their work which may then be pursued in more detail in McCoy's own History of Baptist Indian Missions. 474 pages.
