Why, therefore, did every physicist abandon it (and still do) to follow a statistical model that has, for more than a century, failed to predict a single property of any atom in anything other than a contrived condition. So, when you are confronted by a modern-day academic that dismisses this historic model, you must ask him (or her); why, if the 100-year-old model can predict every property of every atom at any temperature and any pressure, and gives us mathematical chemistry, are you still stumbling around in the dark with a model that clearly doesn't work? I (the author) would guess that perpetual failure is more profitable than success.
