I was actually excited by this book when I first read the description. Didn't take long to realize it wasn't that good. I reads quickly, however, the story is missing something. When I finished the 'Gene,' I found out I'd have to read the other two to reach the conclusion of the series, and that was not what I had wanted. There is some type of 'bell,' that they use to kill people and they don't really explain the purpose in this book, which bothered me. Also, it is just too far fetched in certain plot points, and they never get to the point of the book. If you are interested in fast reading, Clive Cussler type of writing, get it. However, with Clive, you at least get to the end of each book and the situation is concluded, and he does not expect you to read his others, to get to the conclusion.
