I enjoyed this book and all of the books in this particular series very much. These books are not for everyone. One must have a firm belief in spirituality to fully appreciate this book and the others in the series. At the same time, one cannot have the viewpoint of spirituality as merely reading the bible and trying to follow its tenets to the best of one's ability or understanding, or quoting scripture whenever problems arise. One must be open to the possibility that God is love and that love is the guiding force of the universe. The authors are very grounded in their spirituality and the basis for this series is learning to approach life and its challenges from a spiritual perspective which encourages us to view these challenges not as obstacles, but as the higher self helping us to confront our shortcomings and failings as a way to heal and understand our often self-imposed limitations. If one enjoys reading or listening to Deepak Chopra, then this and the other books in the series are well worth the reading. This series differs from Deepak in that the material is presented in the traditional Western style of spirituality rather than the Eastern or Buddhist style. The style of spirituality presented is geared toward more personal responsibility, learning compassion for self and others as well as correction of flaws rather than passive acceptance of them. This and the other books helped me to gain a focus and direction to my spiritual journey that was otherwise lacking. Anyone looking to take their spirituality to a new level will enjoy this book and the others.
