Mary Zimmerman's play of the 1001 Nights is a lovely blend of storytelling and theatre. The play's format uses a core acting group to play the many characters in the stories. Well thought out, she chooses to illuminate her audience to some of the lesser known stories of Scheherezade, giving us a peak into the rich cultural heritage of the place we now call Iraq. Well done and worth the read.
