Near Fine. No Jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. Doyle first published this colletion of twelve Sherlock stories in 1892. This is a later printing of the First American Edition. A reissue must have been needed because Harper initially printed only 4500 copies. Not common. This is a Near Fine copy. Light blue cloth binding with titling in gilt on the spine and front cover. Decorated with a "Gordian Knot" in black on the cover. Clen text; 307 pages, with four pages of publisher adverts in the rear. Frontis illustration and fifteen others within. Hardly any wear. The spine has faded to an even tan; else a Fine copy. In an archival plastic protector.
