If he had written only the great Ode on the Duke of Wellington and the stirringly patriotic Charge of the Light Brigade, his appointment as Laureate were amply justified; but per haps the less poetic but more practical lines Riflemen Form which did so much to iuaugurate our Volunteer Move ment was the more solid patriotic achieve ment.
