This is a great book of the battle for Crete. I always like to try to find history books written by local historians since they provide better perspective. George K. gives the perspectives from all angles - German, British, Greek & the Cretan civilians. My only caveat is that like many history books there is a lack of good maps but I would not let that discourage the general reader.
