This 1990 album by the London Chamber Orchestra could easily be entitled "The Small World of String Serenades." The well-selected program includes the works of Dvorák, Tchaikovsky, and Suk. The composition of each of their respective serenades is quite historically intertwined. Dvorák was the first to compose his serenade after winning a competition that none other than Tchaikovsky was judging.
