In a city known as the home of the blues and the birthplace of rock n' roll, you'll find native Memphian Eddie Tucker. Tucker has been in the advertising and graphic design business for more than forty years, has created work for over 100 businesses, and received over 100 awards. After a ten-year stint as vice president and creative director at a large advertising agency, Tucker started Eddie Tucker Design in 1992, which was successful for many years. Then the recession hit in 2008 causing his business to take a nose dive, leaving him with just two clients. Since no one was hiring, especially not a man in his sixties, Tucker took to driving a cab to help make ends meet. "It's an adventure," says Tucker, "I never know where I'll go or whom I'll meet." He has been in parts of Memphis he never knew existed, and has met a variety of people from all walks of life and from every corner of the world. Tucker began writing a blog in 2010, which proved to be very popular. In 2011, a local newspaper, The Memphis Flyer, issued a cover story entitled "Revelations of a Memphis Cabbie" which included excerpts from the blog. Now you can ride along and meet the many colorful characters who provide a theater rich with the comedy and drama which make up "Taxi Tales from the Streets of Memphis."
