Mr. Stratton again groaned, and said, " No, no, that is the evil. If it were merely a trifle I might make up the loss, but my whole estate would not much more than purchase it." " Indeed!" answered Frederick, " and what can a man like that want with so large a property? it will be rather an incumbrance to him. It cannot increase the sum of his actual enjoyment.
