This book was a real find. It is the personal account written by the daughter of Presient Taft about her years in the Lincoln White House and the effects of the Civil War. She gives a fresh first hand perspective that brings the reader into the immediacy of the moment and a glimpse of President Lincoln from the perspective of a child.. I really did appreciate this rare glimpse of history.
