A word, so expensive, so demanding, and its price we could never naturally pay. Still along that road we must journey if we are ever to return to paradise. That road is called abandoned! It is the only highway back to paradise along which Peter had to travel! "Abandoned," is a word seen everywhere in nature and in things around us. By the command of God, the sun, the moon, the stars, the flowers, the trees, and even the grass came into existence. (Genesis 1) These and much more submitted to His word, hold in their courses as they travel through the voyage of life. God created them; and are they not all absolutely surrendered to Him? Do they not allow God to work in them and do everything He pleases? When God clothes the lilies of the fields with their beauty, is the earth not yielded up, surrendered, given over, to God as He works His beauty? Everything in the cosmos exists in abandonment to the divine. Have we ever cried out; "Stop the world and just let me of?" Still life went on and tears cascaded down our faces. Perhaps we felt abandoned by everyone around us, forsaken in a swirl of drowning emotions. How can we find our way back onto that other path where joy bursts from our innermost being? This book will carry us through the mysteries of life, past pain and despair to a joy unspeakable and full of glory. We will walk through the garden of the prophetic.
