I found the book to be helpful in understanding some perspectives on the symbolism and significance of the text which is what I was hopeful in getting. However I did not care for the direct manner in which the author writes. You get a straight forward commentary that outlines the text and presses a particular viewpoint that the author holds and rarely gives any secondary perspectives to understanding the text. I do not care for this manner of presenting commentaries as it does not allow the reader a full perspective on literary interpretation. I would not be unfair and give a complete negative rating as the text was informative but would caution readers to use the information given to utilize further research into the questions they have and to not allow this to dictate your final thought on the matter.
