This somewhat obscure effort (not yet out on CD) was probably tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton's first as a leader, slightly predating his association with Concord. Hamilton was quickly considered a bit of a phenomenon because he was essentially a young swing stylist, a nonexistent species at the time. Already quite recognizable, the 22-year-old heads a quintet that also includes trumpeter Warren Vache, pianist John Bunch, bassist Michael Moore and drummer Butch Miles.
