I have long been a fan of Walter's work and this book just reinforced the reason for this. A must for anyone with chidren, anyone reading children's books and especially anyone writing children's books. Walter Wangerin doesn't just write, he knows why he writes and knows how to share with others the essentials of that craft. No only do the stories touch the heart, but the essays on writing, strewn throughout the book make it even more fascinating reading for all ages.
