Sections on diagnosis and management are laid out in a similar way to cover the condition, making the diagnosis, proving the diagnosis, pre-operative management, operative details and post-operative care. Each operation is coded to give figures for amount of blood to cross match, type of anaesthetic, operative time, post-operative stay, time off work, and the time at which drains and sutures should be removed.
