Obviously you should be a fan of the show prior to getting the third season; it's a continuation of the Winchester boys' shenanigans from the first two seasons. Due to the writer's strike that occurred during the 2007-2008 television season, there are only 16 episodes (versus the usual 20-24). However, it's still a great season to watch and get away from real life for a bit. There are some really good episodes (like the Supernatural Christmas one that takes place in my home state of Michigan), and some boring ones, like almost any show. Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the show.
