The idea of a guy who has established his reputation as a gay man being outed as actually straight would have made a funny short story. So how to make it into a novel? Add lots of implausible plot twists and turns. I decided after about 50 pages that the joke had been around long enough and the comedy was not working for me and I threw my copy into the recycle bin. But maybe it will work for you. But ask yourself, is this story even faintly believable, or is the author trying to jerk me around?
