This might be the recording of a relaxed jam session after the three musicians had come together to work on a Mahotella Queens album, but you'd never know they weren't a regular band from the tightness and unity of the playing. It's an international cast -- accordion from Madagascar, guitar from South Africa, and French percussion -- but they find plenty of common ground. It helps that Gizavo and Mirandon have often played together, and they take some of their familiar tracks, like "Eka Lahy," to use here.
