This story was very engaging. It covers a subject that many families still try to keep to themselves or deny and shows how doing that can lead to disaster. Maria was thrown into a situation that she didn't know how to handle and it divided her loyalties to her sister, her neice and nephew, her mother and her brother. Luckily she was able to help her neice and nephew heal, as well as herself. She was also able to begin a new life with a man she loved.
