However, as a keen observer of our environment, whether it is man-made or otherwise, it would have been hard for him to ignore the fact that humans have had a somewhat odd attitude to the animals and plants that we can (or could) find around us. To make his drawings Simon Drew has avoided the pitfalls of resorting to cartoons and makes the animals look like they really are, where possible! The result of this juxtaposition of quirky humour and semi-serious drawings is sometimes hilarious, sometimes provocative and sometimes just warped.
