Excerpt from State of Connecticut, Register and Manual, 1947: Prepared Pursuant to Sections 121 and 122 of the General Statutes as Amended by Section 22c, 1935 Supplement In publishing this 1948 edition of the Connecticut Register and Manual we return to the pre-war custom of annual editions, made mandatory by the Statutes. In this edition we have omitted certain items which will be found in the 1947 Manual. These include the list of notaries public, the Governor's Message to the General Assembly, the committees of the General Assembly, and the articles titled The Passage of a Bill and A Freshman Legislative Reporter Looks at Connecticut Government. In an attempt to broaden the usefulness of the Manual we have added several new features this year. One of these is the list of the Commissioners of Deeds for Connecticut in other states. Another is the roster of the Chairmen and vice-chairmen of the Republican and Democratic Town Committees in the respective towns. The list of officials of Towns, Cities and Boroughs is based on the latest information available before going to press.
