IMHO, this book exhibits what I consider to be the most admirable trait of technologically oriented science fiction -- a minimal suspension of disbelief to allow a basic premise which then leads the reader to a rich world of fascinating implications. The only problem I have with this book is that it appears to not have been published in a hardback edition -- indeed, my purchase of this book here is as a replacement of my 25 year old copy that I have reread many times.
