We were surfing the PBS Stations here in the San Francisco Bay Area when there appeared a strange performance with a strange cast. No Matter; we recognized the music instantly - the score was from "South Pacific".
This production was a one night stand held at Carnegie Hall in front of an enthusiastic audience.
With the DVD, we were able to capture the portions we had missed: about the first third of the 37 scenes literally cobbled together just like the thousands of High School productions put on every year.
Although we aare addicted to the Mitzi Gaynor version; this novelty was a pleasant experience we recommend to all.
