Hi I spoke with OSC in about 1981/82 regarding my love of this work and offered my intention re a movie made of this very special story. It resonated in me (a musician/singer) like no other piece of literature in my life, before or since.
This year I will inquire after an option to write the musical play. Still in screen form. Every singer would find parts of him/her self in this epic. The thought that someone could sing your own feelings back to you, as if reading your musical and emotional mind. There is a spiritualness in this book. The book came to me in the most unusual way. At the library in North Hollywood, CA I was browsing and in the corner of a vacant row on the top shelf was the library copy (Green cover) of Songmaster sticking out of the row and the title appealed to me, being an aspiring songwriter, back then. It made me cry more than once and I have probably read it ten times since then.
I have read the reveiws herein and it broadens my perspective on the story. I have heard in the ethers the manner in which Ansett sings the songs without using words only notes and tones. We need more Songmasters.
