Be prepared to listen to how others think. Phillips gives good descriptions of group members from different arenas: elementary schools, nursing homes, coffee shops, etc. In the book, many who are quiet, not assertive, when given a chance to speak up, actually present good views and deep perspectives. What I learned is that there are many good questions that need discussion, and it takes guts to be able to give opinions as well as to be open to different opinions.
