As people learn to live, love, and work in these new cross-cultural environments, social psychologists work to assess how cultural differences can lead to a host of new interrelational complexities, This new and substantially enlarged edition starts by reviewing the degree to which research in the areas of social psychology and cross-cultural psychology has been restricted to relatively few nations. The key concept of culture is then examined, leading to contemporary formulations of how we may best understand culture and cultural difference. Using this framework, the authors next consider to what extent universals have been identified in studies of, for instance, gender, emotion, personality, aggression, and organizational structures. Attention is also given to the development of indigenous schools of psychology in particular regions of the world.
