There is a growing need for fiscal discipline and balanced budgets and a more liberal approach to fiscal conservative governance and the devolution of economic and taxation powers to the lowest practical level. The costs of contemporary moral problems and the national debt mountain created by excessive spending and borrowing of unionised socialist governments is only now being rectified with the application of the mixture of liberalism and conservative politics best suited for the modern day, but there still exists much to be done for social improvement. This book is targeted at people who are interested in governance and community leadership. It explains the need for prudent fiscal conservatism in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, as opposed to profligate socialism. It also touches on the effects of immigration and conflict in Europe on life in the UK, as well as the need for reform in the education and prison systems as part of a strategy to deal with contemporary moral problems. Then finally, it concentrates on the need for liberalism - smaller government and bigger people and the need for education for responsible citizenship, more contemporary community policing and inspirational community leadership, which are areas in which the author has a professional and community background.
