This book comes from a time when small appliances could be repaired more easily. Nowadays people just throw the stuff away when it breaks. So the repair info on various small appliances is for the most part outdated. I got the book because I knew it contained valuable info on troubleshooting in general, which can be applied to appliances of today and small power tools. The authors explain how you can build a hi-pot tester, an armature growler, and a interesting test board called an "appliance tester" for testing small appliances for shorts, ground faults, etc. Those items alone are worth the price of the book in my opinion.
