Presentation copy: 'For Jill Anne & Nancy a book with a favoured name &emdash; George 17.1. '92. ' Daedalus Press postcard poem 'Wind's Littoral Work Is' by George Sims loosely inserted with a handwritten signed note on the other side consisting of about 65 words in which he comments on a Charlotte Mew anecdote about messages from 'the other side' which he is 'v. doubtful about' and says he once wrote a short story concerning an unhinged medium. He was also interested to hear about the 'Trollope splurge'. Jill Anne and Nancy Bowden worked at Cyril Beaumont's Bookshop at 75 Charing Cross Road. George F. Sims (1923-1999) bookseller and collector of rare books and manuscripts published a few collections of his own poems and a number of novels and memoirs. Very good indeed. Very good indeed.

Square, tight and clean throughout with a touch of edge and surface wear but quite minor. Includes 1 page TLS letter, in Fine condition folded in quarters, from James MacGibbon of Victor Gollancz to Roy Fuller, Esq., asking for a comment on the book. A very pleasing collectable copy and a quite uncommon item.
