What is especially interesting is the oral testimony of both the young and old in Igbo society, along with the facts and figures in support of their claims. In his conclusion, Dr. Nzekwe is right on target when he states, "curriculum should be relevant to global needs such as the inclusion of more science and technology in the basic curriculum, but not at the expense of a holistic view of the needs of the society in question. Schooling is designed to produce literacy in all fields of life, but especially literacy in one's culture."
